Evelyn Ku succeeds Iris Lai who is retiring after serving 20 years as CEO at Alhambra Hospital Medical Center navigating operations through many changes throughout the years including the latest COVID pandemic.

Iris Lai was instrumental in helping the hospital achieve multiple healthcare awards including the Truven Top 100 Hospital award, 5 stars Center of Medicare and Medicaid Rating in 2021 and 2022 and Leapfrog Patient Safety Scores “A” multiple times and many others. Lai was active in the community of Alhambra, serving on the Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors for many years. Her dedication and commitment to the community were deep rooted since she herself is a resident of the San Gabriel valley.

Evelyn Ku brings almost 30 years of experience in hospital operations, nursing leadership and shares a deep commitment to Alhambra Hospital Medical Center’s mission to enhancing and improving the health of the community we serve and to ensure the continued success of the hospital.

During the Last 17 years she worked in a numerous of clinical, operation, nursing at executive roles at Advanced Healthcare Management Corporation and Alhambra Hospital Medical Center as the Chief Nursing Officer and Chief Operating Officer.

Prior to being named as CEO at AHMC, she was serving as the Vice President and Chief Nursing Officer at Henry Mayo Newhall Hospital.

Ku received her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from the University of Southern California and her Master of Science in Nursing and Master of Healthcare Management from the University of Phoenix.

Evelyn Ku states, “I am honored and privileged to take on this role to serve the staff and physicians and the community of Alhambra and surrounding areas. One key ingredient for our hospital’s success is the ability to align our vision and mission from the top governing board to staff level. I strongly believe our staff and leaders take pride to serve the patients and embrace the culture of safety. There are no words that can express the dedication they have shown to our community and to their profession over last few years during pandemic time. They are the heart of the Alhambra Hospital Medical Center and I am truly grateful and looking forward to serve alongside with them.”
